Librarians, the Sitcom

It was only a matter of time. Australian TV has just crafted a black comedy centered around working at a public library. Wayne Hope, co-producer and director of the new show entitled The Librarians, had the idea after regular visits to his own local library where he observed the clientele. Hope said, “It’s one of the last places you can go to now where you get heating or cooling and a copy of the newspaper for nothing, so naturally it attracts every freak under the sun.” My favorite touch is the mail thief serving community service!

    … still doesn’t beat Conan The Librarian from “UHF”, though. I don’t think anything can.
